SUMMER MADNESS
In a desperate, ruthless and wickedly calculating attempt to save you mad dogs and Englishmen from the heat of the midday sun we are pleased to announce another ridiculous offer.

Until the end of September children between the ages of four and twelve can accompany their parents or guardians for Sunday lunch and we will buy their lunch! Somebody’s got to look after mum and dad. The offer is limited to two children per adult (just to discriminate against the old woman who lived in the shoe).

On a more serious note we make a truly excellent ‘escape from the heat’ venue – when the sun is splitting the stones it’s always cool in The Walls! Please advise when booking how many qualifying children are in your party. Sunday lunch also features really good poached fish, salads and lighter options to accompany what we still believe is the best carvery in Shropshire.

THAI DYED
STILL RUNNING! (Get it?!)
Due to the tragic fire that wiped out a large chunk of contemporary art recently in London good paintings are now at a premium. Our spectacular exhibition of Thai paintings is scheduled to run until early July. No amount of my drooling hyperbole will do the work of these artists justice. Let’s just say that any of them would merit a place in Tracy Emmin’s bed.

The exhibition is open daily from 10 am and can be viewed every evening except Wednesday and Thursday. Promoter Jim Findlay is very pleased with the response so far, Paintings have been selling like ‘hot crab cakes’.

FRIPPERIES
A mega two-day retail therapy event is being held at The Walls on the 16th & 17th June. Billed as unnecessary things you have to have, this extraordinary eclectic mix is a true ‘Bling & Buy’ experience!

Just in time to buy a serious or not so serious Father’s Day present, come and browse through clothing semi-precious rocks and stones, candles, decorative lighting and furniture. Show and sale is open from 10 am to 8 PM both days.

FATHERS DAY
Sunday 20th June
As a poor old hard done by dad I always feel a bit short changed by the huge disparity between the amount of fuss made about Mother’s Day (justified of course!) and the whimper that is Father’s Day.

I’m not bitter and twisted but, come on, mums, this is your chance to even things up a bit and avoid the washing up too! To raise the spirits of the army of slippered and cardiganed, pipe-smoking indolents, we are pleased to offer all dads a free bottle of local real ale – Shropshire Lad or Hopping Mad.

Your spectacular free gift may be drunk with your lunch or taken home to help you continue the celebrations in the comfort of your own castle!
JOHN & WAYNE
Saturday 3rd July
This duo has graced The Walls on several successful occasions in the past. However they now have an even bigger pedigree and even more street cred than they had before. They have recently completed a sell out tour supporting some entirely unknown Radio 2 star called Marti Pellow, to rave reviews.

The boys are using us a bit of practice before taking on Oswestry by storm at the Music in the Park event. This is a ticketed show and the price including one of our most excellent three course dinners is £25.00 per person.

NEXT ART EXHIBITION
A first exhibition by Reg Turrell

Hot on the heels of the high flying Thai art, which incidentally will be migrating to the main part of the building, is an exhibition of work by local artist Reg Turrell.

Reg studied art at Great Yarmouth College and taught in village schools in Shropshire. The local landscape and his passion for nature and all things natural inspire his work.

You are cordially invited to the opening night is Friday 2nd of July when Reg will be in attendance between 7pm and 9pm. Complimentary wine & olives.

MOOI
Friday 23rd July
Please make the effort to come and see the magnificent MOOI live at The Walls for the first time on their own.

These highly talented girls from Wrexham (aren’t they all!) play their own particular brand of quality melodic offerings live on stage from 9:45pm. No tickets required - just come and have dinner – any menu- and sit back and watch the show

CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR
I simply cannot get my head around to planning fare for the cold winter months before we’ve enjoyed all the riches that the glorious summer months provide. I need to get excited about broad beans, runner beans, sea trout, raspberries, strawberries, peaches and all the other culinary delights that make summer so special.

However December and January are our two most heavily oversubscribed months of the year so I just have to steel myself and grasp the nettle....

Basically, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it" is our motto for this year, so the format will fairly closely follow last year's spectacularly well-received offerings.

Christmas party menus will be served from the last week of November throughout December and January. We will be including a disco on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and any other night by arrangement.

Prices for this year are £17.50 for three courses at lunchtime, dinner with no disco will be either £21 or £25 depending on the chosen menu and dinner with a disco will be £23 or £28.A number of our key dates are already booked so please contact us as soon as you are able to reserve your space and request our Christmas menu brochure which will be out in early August.

ANDY LEAKE SHOWCASE – AGAIN
Andy, our resident ivory-tinkling scallywag, puts a huge amount of effort into sourcing, encouraging and supporting this continually surprising pool of local talent. We believe that it is very important to provide a venue for young and not so young musicians to cut their teeth in front of a real live audience.

The next event is scheduled for mid to late August (to be confirmed) and tickets will be £22.50 of which £7.50 goes directly to the artistes. This showcase will also be a talent contest with every member of the audience having a vote to be cast for one of the acts. The winner will be offered a ‘stand alone’ slot at The Walls later in the year
